We were wondering how your editing works.Does the author get to check what you have edited?
Hi there! Paul and I are the editors at Fiction Express. We get a first draft of the new chapters in from the authors each week by Thursday lunchtime. With each chapter they also give us the three options for the voting, and three short outlines of what might happen in the next chapter (depending on what the readers vote for). We read and edit the chapters and the options, marking up our suggestions and changes. Then we send the chapter back to the authors.
On Friday morning, the authors send us a revised chapter. Then there’s often a flurry of emails or phone calls on Friday morning between us and the authors before we finalize everything ready for 3 pm!
